International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation 2016
The International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation was held in Havana, Cuba, from October 31 to November 4, 2016. The event, under the theme “Cuba, a country of men of science…”, brought together around 1,200 delegates, including international experts. It focused on topics such as information and communication technologies, renewable energy, and nanosciences, with the aim of reflecting on the contribution of science, technology, and innovation to sustainable development.
The event featured 10 conventions, the Expociencia 2016 fair, and the 1st International Science-Business Workshop. A total of 750 papers were presented, with participation from experts from Latin America, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, India, and other countries.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba. Its main objective was to engage Cuban society in reflecting on the importance of science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development.
